 Child Watch Policies and Procedures

 

 

Child Watch is a babysitting service for members while they workout.  The following are the policies and procedures:

 

 

There is a 2-hour limit for all children per visit.  There is a limit of 2 visits per day and they must be non-consecutive (at least 2 hours between visits).

 

Child Watch is included in a family membership; adult individual and youth members may utilize our child watch center for a fee of $1 per hour, per child, per day.

 

You must produce a picture ID when dropping off and picking up your child.

 

Only a parent or guardian may utilize our Child Watch Center, therefore only a parent or guardian may drop off and pick up any child in our child watch center, and only the same parent who dropped off the child may pick up the child.

 

Sick children may NOT enter the nursery at any time, no exceptions.

 

Children MUST wear shoes at all times.

 

No food permitted in the Child Watch Area.  Sippy cups and baby bottles are allowed.

 

Gum and lollipops are NOT allowed in the nursery.

 

The YMCA will NOT provide any food, drinks or diapers.

 

Children are never left unattended at anytime.  This also means escorting them to the restroom.

 

Children are not allowed to rough house or run around. At any time.

 

Children are never left outside for any period of time unattended.  A staff member is with the children at all times

 

Infants are never left to cry for more than five (5) minutes, fifteen (15) minutes for older children.

 

Once the nursery has closed staff will retrieve the parent.  Children are not taken to the parents; the parents must come in and sign their children out.

 

Absolutely no yelling or physical punishment is used on the YMCA premises. Time out is only used.

 

Time outs are to be one minute per year of child’s age.

 

Babies are only laid on the floor.  They may also be in the playpen, swing or bouncer. 

 

The parent or guardian must change diapers.  It is important that parents make staff aware of where they will be in the facility.

 

Maximum number of children allowed in the Child Watch Center at any one time is 90 (45 inside and 45 outside).
