Parents Code of Ethics

 


YMCA of Metropolitan Tucson

1. I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for ALL players, coaches and officials at every game, practice, or other youth sport events.

2. I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of a personal desire to win.

3. I will support the implementation of the YMCA's four character developmental values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility.

4. I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.

5. I will not question an official's call.  I may not agree with the call but I will accept the call and move on.

6. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and will refrain from their uses at all YMCA youth sport events.

7. I will remember that the game is for youth-not for adults.

8. I will do my very best to make the youth sport experience fun for my child.

9. I will help by child enjoy the youth sport experience by doing whatever I can such as; being a respectful fan, assisting with coaching, or providing transportation.

10. I will teach my child to treat other players, coaches, fans, officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability.

I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in youth sport by following this parents code of ethics.
