YMCA Youth Super Sports Pledge
YMCA Youth Sports - Disciplinary Action Policy
Expectations of Parents
YMCA Youth Super Sports Pledge
To be recited with conviction by players and coaches prior to all games.
"Win or lose, I pledge to do my best to be a team player, to respect my opponents, teammates and officials, and to improve myself in spirit, mind and body."
YMCA Youth Sports - Disciplinary Action Policy
During Northwest YMCA Youth Sports activities coaches, parents, spectators and participants are expected to maintain a high standard of conduct and display good sportsmanship at all times. Yelling, screaming, swearing, willfully violating rules and physically touching referees will not be tolerated.
Whenever a coach, parent, spectator, or participant displays attitudes, actions and/or conduct that is contrary to YMCA rules, regulations and philosophy the said person will first be counseled by the YMCA staff. If the behavior continues the person will be asked to leave the facility or game immediately. If the individual refuses to leave, the game will be stopped. Whenever an individual is removed from a game or facility they will at the minimum receive a one game suspension and possible permanent suspension from all YMCA activities for one year. Once a individual has been suspended, they will be required to sign a contract stating the consequences of their behavior that did not improve.
In most circumstances the above procedures will be followed when dealing with a disruptive person; however, if the incident is severe the individual will automatically be removed from the facility and suspended (for example physically touching a YMCA referee).
The Northwest YMCA Disciplinary Policy was developed to ensure that everyone involved in the YMCA Youth Sports programs have a positive experience. It only takes one negative individual to created and unpleasant experience.
