Please join us in congratulating Issiah Washington, an Angel Youth Center staff member. Issiah received the Rodel Promising Student Teacher honor.  The Rodel Foundation of Arizona is recognizing teachers who beat the odds with outstanding student achievement in high-needs schools. Rodel Exemplary Teachers are honored in the community and become mentors to the most promising student teachers. Only 11 are selected in the state for this honor.

Please join us in congratulating Darrell Patton, Ott Family YMCA Coach for receiving a 2012 Double-Goal Coach Award. RJ Bergman, Ott YMCA Program Director, nominated Darrell for the award because of the positive impact he has on kids in our basketball program. Darrell is the head coach of the Tucson Magic Basketball organization here in Tucson and about 5 to 9 of his teams participate in our basketball league.  He is a role model coach and is always positive with Y kids. He teaches Y Kids to respect the other players, coaches and most of all the game of basketball. Congratulations Darrell!

The Ott Family YMCA has received a $20,000 grant from the Sierra Club Foundation, which will be joined with $8,000 in YMCA Financial Assistance to provide military kids from the Southern Arizona Community with opportunities to attend YMCA summer camp for FREE. Military families face severe financial emotional stress, especially those with loved ones overseas and we want you to know the Y is here to support you!
