Please join us in congratulating Issiah Washington, an Angel Youth Center staff member. Issiah received the Rodel Promising Student Teacher honor.  The Rodel Foundation of Arizona is recognizing teachers who beat the odds with outstanding student achievement in high-needs schools. Rodel Exemplary Teachers are honored in the community and become mentors to the most promising student teachers. Only 11 are selected in the state for this honor. 
The Ott Family YMCA has received a $20,000 grant from the Sierra Club Foundation, which will be joined with $8,000 in YMCA Financial Assistance to provide military kids from the Southern Arizona Community with opportunities to attend YMCA summer camp for FREE. Military families face severe financial emotional stress, especially those with loved ones overseas and we want you to know the Y is here to support you!

The Y brings families together, encourages good health and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests. As a result, millions of youth, adults and families receive the support and resources they need to achieve greater health and well-being.

It is because of the tremendous strides that we have made in our community, Tucson was one of four cities selected to be studied for our Healthier Communities Initiatives.
