MISSION STATEMENT
The YMCA of Southern Arizona is dedicated to improving the quality of human life and helping all people realize their fullest potential through the development of SPIRIT, MIND and BODY.
SEEK TO IMPACT
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, HEALTHY LIVING and SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. We focus on prevention, but we would like to expand our efforts in leadership development and character building. We seek to expand into the "health-seeker" market. Our impact in social responsibility will be demonstrated by taking leadership in the community, addressing critical needs and engaging in partnerships and advocacy.
BY ENGAGING
A diverse population of youth, families, adults and seniors. People in our community dealing with difficult health challenges such as prevention of diabetes and obesity, as well as people desiring a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
THROUGH OUR CORE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
A broad array of prevention-based programs such as afterschool childcare, health & wellness, swimming, sports and play, prevention, summer camp (residential and day camp) and family programming. Intentional outreach and relationship building with community leaders, members and participants.
WITH A SUSTAINABLE OPERATION
Maintaining a FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE CULTURE that is debt adverse, funds reserves and is disciplined in its fiduciary monitoring; CHANGING AND ADOPTING programmatically; committing only to build and operate QUALITY facilities; establishing and maintaining long-term RELATIONSHIPS; a sense of OWNERSHIP by board members committed to sustainability; a focus on increasing MEMBERSHIP RETENTION and increasing MEMBERSHIP REVENUE as a percentage of the overall operating budget; and growing contributed support of the YMCA FOUNDATION.
