This class is for Junior Lifeguards who have been part of the program at least one of the last two years.  Review your skills, learn some new ones.  Advance your knowledge and increase your abilities.  You were a valuable part of our program in the past and we’d like to help you learn more and then give you the opportunity to help in a great capacity as a volunteer this year.

Teens over 15 who pass a qualifying swim test have the opprtunity to participate in the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training. Class includes certification, CPR, First Aid as well as AED.

Parent/Child Swim Lessons Schedule
Schedule
Children ages 6months to 3 years will enjoy the many water readiness activities provided by our highly trained instructors. This is one of the most important skills every child should master - feeling safe in the water. Children progress from water adjustment to basic skills while working with parents.
 
 

Swim Lessons-Kids & Pre-Teen

1. Polliwogs 6-12 Schedule
Schedule
The Polliwog level is designed for the child who has little or no experience in the water. Survival float (with aid), lifesaving skills (non-swimming) and independent swim on their front and back are introduced.
 

2. Guppy 6-12  [click for more]

2. Guppy 6-12 Schedule
Schedule
The Guppy level is designed for the child who can paddle 15 yards of the pool. Personal safety skills and lifesaving skills are emphasized. They will be introduced to the back crawl, sidestroke and treading water. Guppies have the goal of swimming front crawl for 25 yards.

3. Minnow 6-12 Schedule
Schedule
The Minnow level is designed for the child who can swim front crawl independently for 25 yards. Underwater swimming, butterfly and breaststroke are introduced with a goal of swimming front and back crawl for 50 yards.

4. Fish 6-12 Schedule
Schedule
The Fish level is designed for the child who can swim 50 yards front crawl independently without stopping. Surface dives and turns are introduced, with a goal of swimming butterfly and breaststroke for 25 yards and freestyle for 150 yards.

Schedule
The Pike level is designed for beginning swimmers who have little exposure to water and are reluctant to put their face in water. Children's independence in the water is encouraged as they are taught to propel themselfes through the water. Basic aquatic and boating safety is also emphasized. Parent participation is optional

Schedule
The Eel level is designed for swimmers who are comfortable in gropu situations without their parent and can put their face in the water and blow bubbles, unassisted. This program develps greater confidence and comfort in group situations, as well as the ability to move through the water independent of adult support. THis program will focus on basic swimming techniques.

3. Rays 3-5 Schedule
Schedule
The Ray level is designed for swimmers who are able to paddle with their face in the wter 15 feet with minimal assistance. Grabbing the wall and elementary swimming are introduced, with an effort made to create greater independence in the water.
 

4. Starfish 3-5  [click for more]

4. Starfish 3-5 Schedule
Schedule
The Starfish level is designed for the child who can swim front crawl for 25 yards with their face in the water without assistance from an instructor. In this program, the child will increase independence in the water with a goal of learning the basics of butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke.
